Hugh Williams the current Brown Trout record holder at Eglwys braved the high winds to go fishing this morning.
He fished on the entrance near the overflow and had only just thrown out his pair of Boobies and was in the process of pulling line off the reel ready to execute one of his long casts when there was a huge swirl near his flies he half heartedly tightened into the line thinking the fish was gone only to feel the weight of a good fish.
The ensuing battle all played out on the surface (unusual for a Brown)ended with Hugh the victor .The fish was weighed and photographed and released back into the water.
The fish was in excellent condition and weighed 11.5Lbs
